Summer is far from over so make a splash at Sahara Sams!
Disclosure: This sponsored post about Visiting Sahara Sams Indoor Water Park is brought to you as part of the US Family Network of bloggers, My Best of Both Worlds was provided with complimentary admission to Sahara Sams Oasis Indoor and Outdoor Waterpark for purposes of this review. All opinions expressed are true and my family's own and the truth of the matter is Sahara Sams is tons of fun.
This is our family's second trip to Sahara Sams, our first trip back in April 2013 Great Family Day at Sahara Sams. Sahara Sams is located in West Berlin, New Jersey.
Looking back at that post, my little guy Sean Eddie had to wear a life vest, this year no need he has come along way in a year and so has Sahara Sams. In addition to the huge indoor park that's always a sunny eighty-four degrees, they have expanded outdoors. We really enjoyed the Rip and Roll Wave pool. There was also an area for the younger kids to enjoy called splish splash, lots of sprinklers and splashing fun.
When I say the place is large I mean it, the park is over 58,000 square feet of Splashtastic Fun including a 3,000 square foot modern arcade with great prizes, the region’s only Flow Rider indoor surfing simulator, a full-service cafe featuring your favorite snacks, cold soft drinks, and your favorite cocktails or beer.
The kids really enjoyed the Flow Rider! With the depth of the water at about two inches, you'd think this would be easy, but with the water pumping out at 30-35 mph think again! My kids got the hang of it pretty quickly and had fun doing it. Check out their videos.
Kristen rocked it!
Sean Eddie's turn now!
While Sean Eddie has become a much stronger swimmer from all his lessons and then time in our pool, I was impressed with the presence of the life guards. One life guard by the name of Maria N. She was on duty while Sean Eddie he was making his way across the crocodile crossings.
He didn't quite make it to the last lily pad and fell into the water. He popped up right away and began swimming to the ladder, but before I knew it Maria the life guard was in the water and helped him right over to the ladder. I thanked her and said he's a good swimmer, her response was I never take a chance. I LOVE IT! Now that's a great attitude and work ethic.
Maria the lifeguard was on point!
Talk about safety first. I was so SUPER IMPRESSED with Maria that I took her picture and Tweeted Kudos right out!
Of course Kristen had to try the crossing too. To make it more difficult, Kristen crossed over on her knees and was successful too!
One of our favorite rides is one we can do as a family-it's the family raft ride known as Mount Kilimanjaro. The kids also enjoyed the body slides, after climbing up to the top of the world according to my son, you can ride Nile mile or get on a tube for one or two riders and go down the Snake Eye tube slides.
Don't feel like climbing, then the grab a tube and meander down the Congo Bongo Adventure River or as I refer to it as the Lazy River. You can just keep going round and round and round.
We wished that we lived closer to Sahara Sams as they have some awesome deals on an annual pass and birthday parties. The great thing is that it's open all year long to enjoy. I would highly recommend that you and your family make a splash at Sahara Sams!
And for those of you with family members that have special needs Sahara Sams has a great event planned on Friday November 14, 2014 from 6 pm to 9 pm.
Special Needs Events at Sahara Sams provide fun judgement-free evenings for individuals with special needs to enjoy with their family and friends. SEAS events are offered to the community at a significantly reduced rate and are designed with the unique challenges of special needs individuals in mind.
